Since when did I reference 9/11 as evidence? Do you understand what an example is, or do I have to explain it to you? I said that Muslims did suffer from bigoted attacks in the 1990’s, but it skyrocketed after 9/11 for the simple reason that many Americans who previously never heard of Muslims were now very aware of it due to 9/11. Just like how most Americans weren’t aware of Somalis (except for a minority of Whites) until Ilhan burst onto the political scene.

You can't offer an example in lieu of evidence and expect not to get laughed at! You see a congresswoman saying controversial stuff isn't going to have the same or even similar impact to an event like 9/11! I don't know what purpose you thought your example served - but examples usually require... some degree of equivalence. But you've no sense of logic it seems.

This is far worse than relating anecdotes from your "friends" to support your claims.

And that is the source of some who critique Ilhan Omar in our community. If half the population in America is hating on her because of her race which you share, Because of her religion which you share, because of her politics which many white and nonwhite share, then the argument that her shutting up will change these haters of her is not only ridiuculous and uninformed but being delusional, or part of the bigtory we have to deal with.

Well considering the fact that Ilhan has only reached the public consciousness since about February, then we will see the statistics of hate crimes against Somalis. Or hate crimes against Black women in hijabs. I guess we’ll have to wait a year for the numbers to be released.

Is that what you want? For the statistics to show you something you already suspect? If my personal examples aren’t enough, well then let’s wait til the numbers come out.

Precisely. That's why I was asking him/her why the moderates who would turn conservative just because of her haven't been swayed in the other direction by the crazy amount of racist and inflammatory talk that's been coming from the republicans for ages. Shallow thinking is dangerous.

A whole lot of people vote for Trump not because they like him, but because they hate his opponent. Trump was the first President to get elected while having most Americans dislike him strongly. Many people voted for him because they disliked socialism, or because they were anti-abortion, or its because they didn’t want to war with Syria, or because they thought he’d build a Wall in front of Mexico. Most people vote for him DESPITE the fact that they dislike him and find him repulsive.

And if you think that we criticize Ilhan because she’s a successful politician, then why don’t we use that same vitriol towards Ahmed Hussen? He’s a Canadian CABINET MINISTER who actually has real political power. This man came from nothing and made something of himself, so why am I not criticizing him?

And Ilhan Omar was part of that group that helped suppress a Somali male politician in Minneapolis because of his anti-gay views. So don’t give me your crap about Somalinimo when Ilhan would throw you under the bus to please her White liberal masters.

If any White person said this, he’d be destroyed by the media. We both know this. If any Republican politician disparaged a group of Black teenagers on Twitter, then he’d be rightfully called a racist. Ilhan attacks a group of 15 year old White boys and no one says anything. Attacking these boys for the sole fact that they were White. This type of stuff is what creates White Nationalists out of previously very reasonable White people.

Is anything that Republicans have done in the last 10 years even CLOSE to what Ilhan has said in 2019?
