DO WE HAVE any ETHIOPIAN ethnic expert? Who are the Sidamo?

That area is a mix of cushitic, habesha and some omotics, there’s no bantus in Ethiopia btw
Oh yes there is Bantus, plenty of them in somali region, they live in every community and atleast makes third majority in godey, qalaafe and along the shabelle river.

In Sidama
Before king menilik Sidamas were mostly muslims and had a strong islamic sultanate that existed for many years.
They were later defeated by menilik.
ever since then Sidamas have been under huge marginalization, so much that they changed their names to habesha names and even converting to christianity, mainly protestanism.
In modern times they have been waging rebellion against the government.

Their kingdoms were known for coffee by the way, its where the Ethiopian coffee is from.

Are you referring to these people?

Sidamas are a Cushitic speaking group who’ve mixed with the omotics living in the Hawasa area. A lot of Arsi Oromos are of Sidama Origin. Their clothing and dance are pretty identical.

Language wise, sounds like Oromo when spoken but words are not really understandable.

A good group of people.
