US is hyped. US is only interesting if you have a good degree already. The American dream is BS, multiple studies have shown that Europe has way more social mobility than the US i.e. it is easier to affluent in Europe than the US.

The salaries mighg be higher in the US but theres no healthcare, no paid holidays (i have 42 paid holidays each year). Get a simple disease and its done for u. From this year even men will get a maternity leave of 1 week, forget about women. In the US theres no maternity leave by law.

More than 50% of the bankruptcies the US is due to healthcare.

Forgwt about how expensive colleges are.

All in all, f*ck that
Only one week?

They say the government shouldnt intervene and let thr market do its thing, then why did your government bail out the banks when they were going under? Why not let the market do its thing.

I pay eagerly 52% tax if it makes sure to have an egalitarian society.

Only one week?

Yes for now, but per 2020 it will be 7 weeks for the father! Thats additional to the 16 weeks of the mother

America is the best place to be rich in. Everything is buyable and as a rich person you have status a rich person dont have in europe. In europe a lot of people look down on rich people and have dislike for them while in america they are admired and respected. But i much rather be poor in europe

I was recently was in a car accident this summer. I’m fine. My only lasting injury is a broken bone in my hand.

I had my sister guess my final bill for all of two days in the hospital, bc of a seatbelt injury on my stomach from the impact of the crash. They were worried my internal organs were going to bleed out. Thankfully, I didn’t have any internal bleeding, but the seatbelt left a gnarly bruise and epic swelling. I was worried about the aesthetics of the my abdomen, but thankfully it’s finally starting to look normal. Anyway, the bill was upwards of 33k. My sister started her guess too low and was really shocked when I kept saying, “..not even close”. Were it not for having insurance, I would’ve been fucked sideways.

I totally buy people being bankrupted through healthcare, especially for long-term illnesses. I never thought about how much patients spend, especially if they have no insurance.

Even so, I wouldn’t trade the US for Europe.

Would you move to the states if you married someone from there? My sister’s co worker is marrying a guy from Denmark and he wants to move to MN while she wants to move to Denmark, apparently he is hell bent on moving here and told her most Somalis in Denmark would love the opportunity to move to Canada/US is that true?

I would understand if you lived in shitty UK and Sweden but Denmark? Isn’t it like the world’s happiest place to live?

I go back and forth between The Netherlands and France. Currently living in The Netherlands and I would never ever move to America for anyone. American somalis inkaar bey qabaan anyway

There is no country in the world where you are given opportunties like Sweden.

I have those benefits but it’s not a guarantee for every job which is pretty sad especially when you are a new mother wanting to bond with your baby.

If you are a Somali Atheist or Christian, I would say the United States or Australia is the place to be. Europe today is full of radical Islamists and anti-semites.

It varies from person to person, for the educated Somalis yes, they'd want to move tho the US, since there are more job opportunities there. Whereas, the uneducated ones and single mothers are more likely to stay in Europe, since they get more benefits there and the education system here is better.

As for your UK and Scandinavia summary, it varies once again. In most of Sweden and Norway the right wing and nationalists are winning, which is resulting in more open hostilities to people of colour, especially muslims. Plus, our reputation in both nations is equal to that in the UK.
