I think its primarily initiated by the husband due to a fetish they have for their spouses best friend. Its like in real life. Women just go along, its a tragic reality

It is true most men entertain and like the idea of more than one woman for their pleasure, but that is only easy in the abstract. As long as she meets his expectations, he won't have to look past her for satisfaction.
Personally, if my wife hits 40 i'll have to get a new wife even if my wife met my expectations.

Again, not all women are like that. How many married or are into relationships with men who are lower in status and quality? Too many to count. Cultures have sayings that point towards women being unpredictable in how they choose a man.
