Who’s the poem by?

I’ve noticed I only read poems when I want to get out a good cry that’s stuck. It’s just profound enough (most are sad) and you’re just receptive enough, it throws you over the edge into the perfect sob :lawd:

Favorite poem since High School

Gemineye -

Penny for your thoughts
As a matter of fact how about three
One penny for you
One penny for me
And one penny for our minds engaged
Not so sexually
Getting intimately closer
As we approach the climactic altitude
Of nude mental sensational conversation
Cuz I’m trying to get to know everything about you

There exists no such thing as rights or privileges under the Laws of Nature.
The deer being stalked by a hungry lion has no right to life. However, he may
purchase life by obedience to nature ordained instincts for vigilance and flight.
Similarly, men have no rights to life, liberty or happiness. These circumstances
may be purchased by oneself, by ones family, by ones tribe or by ones ancestors,
but they are nonetheless purchases and are not rights. Furthermore, the value of
these purchases can only be maintained through vigilance and obedience to
Natural Law..

I am so small walking on the beach
at night under the widening sky.
The wet sand quickens beneath my feet
and the waves thunder against the shore.

I am moving away from the boardwalk
with its colorful streamers of people
and the hotels with their blinking lights.
The wind sighs for hundreds of miles.

I am disappearing so far into the dark
I have vanished from sight.
I am a tiny seashell
that has secretly drifted ashore

and carries the sound of the ocean
surging through its body.
I am so small now no one can see me.
How can I be filled with such a vast love?
