Specific kind of somali aka MJs Lol. honestly assume you brought home a somali guy and he is everything your parents wanted for you including muslim. I know you not and its unlikely. But if he ticks every box they want for you except tribe.....would they really be against it?

Definitely....both my sisters married hawiye. My mum made fun of them called them darkskinned savages....which is factually correct. But she had no problem giving her daughters away. MJs in general are the least xenophobic qabil

No, I meant, he has to be a specific kind of Somali, ie, from their tribe/region.

Believe it or not, as of three years ago, I didn’t know our tribe, just the region. They’ve never said anything of that nature to us about any tribe, nor do they speak about ours, but when it comes to marriage, they are discriminating.

It happened to my brother who wanted to marry a certain Somali girl, but they were against it, bc it wasn’t the specific kind they liked. Now he’s married to an American girl, and she’s married to an American guy. They didn’t want the second girl either, but guess what, he wasn’t going to fall for it a 2nd time.

So unless your family are the weird, detached type, maybe they’ll be upset at first, but they’ll have to accept your choice.

The only Somali guy I was ever into happened to be the right kind lol, but the odds of that happening again, if a Somali at all, are not high, so they’ll have to settle for what comes.
