I normally don’t care about this issue

But Somalis have no chill there was this Facebook video of a guy cooking and cleaning for his Mom cause she’s old and sick and he’s her only child

And there where people mocking him and making jokes

:faysalwtf:
People have no chill. They will literally hate on anything. Our prophet cooked and clean. Kudos to anyguy who does that

Cooking for your parents and grandparents is an honour. I do it so that Allah swt will bless me with good pious children In'sha'Allah.

However, I would never cook as a husband

A woman does not have to cook or clean according to Islam, she can CHOOSE to.
Learn the difference.

It's your choice to neglect your husband duties but rest assured, you will be questioned for your neglect and selfish attitude in the hereafter.

Why do Somali men act like cooking and cleaning is a woman's job? According to who??
Go hire a maid and a cook, the only thing a muslim woman MUST do is push out the babies, she can even ask for a salary to breastfeed her own babies.

The joke is on you woman haters and hereafter is going to be :z1banet: with all your neglect and "I didn't know that was my duty Ya Allahhh" "Send me back Ya Allah, I will be nicer to my wiiifeeee wiiiic" :ftw9nwa:

So according to Islam, the husband works outside and then comes home to cook and clean and also pay his wife to take care of her own children :jaynerd:

I don't know which Somalis are commenting this video, but i think every of us would cook for our sick mothers and the people who are disrespecting this are trolls. No one would say such things in real life
@Mercury probably made this thread to cause some controversy.. Who in their right mind mocks someone who's cooking or cleaning for his sick mother :bell:

Wallahi the Prophet pbuh did not do that. What do you take the Prophet pbuh for:wtf:

Here is some reading for you:

Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), was asked, “What did the Prophet (ﷺ) use to do in his house?” She replied, “He used to keep himself busy serving his family (كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي مِهْنَةِ أَهْلِهِ) and when it was the time for prayer he would go for it.” (Bukhari)

The word used in the hadith is Mihnah (مِهْنَة), which is translated as ‘busy serving’ here, also means in the Arabic language ‘work’, ‘job’, ‘profession’, etc. This implies helping your wife in the house is a full time job as well. Whether it’s helping wash the dishes, cooking, cleaning, raising the kids, etc., is all part and parcel of being the ‘man’ of the house. The notion that it is somehow degrading for men to help and work with the wife around the house is foreign to Islam.

In another report Aisha is reported to have said, “He did what one of you would do in his house. He mended sandals and patched garments and sewed.” (Adab Al-Mufrad graded sahih by Al-Albani)

In yet another report it is said that she said, “He milked his goat.” (Ahmad)

Hence, he did not find such things too ‘womanish’ for him to do. It is no wonder that he said, “The best of you is the one who is best to his wife, and I am the best of you to my wives.”

Children yes she has to. But cooking no.

According to Shafi madhab she doesn't have to. Some Salafis on the other hand believe she has to.

But marriage is give and take, so both parties need to pull their weight.

Fixing stuff around the house and maintaining its security is the husband's job. The Prophet pbuh never cooked and cleaned his wives homes

Btw..
There's nothing wrong with cooking or cleaning.. It won't make you less or more of a man to do that.. It's just all part of daily chores one has to do single or married

A man is strong when he learns how and when to apply his strength and the power Allah SWT has bestowed upon him.

Be strong outside, go fight for your salary and role among other men.

Inside your house, your role is to lead by example and with gentleness, remember, the first woman was made from Adam's rib, this means she is to be protected!

With great power comes great responsibility (spiderman lol) so use your power wisely and no, this does not mean hiding from household chores like little lazy children.

This is pretty fascinating:

Imam Abu Ishaq al-Shirazi mentioned Al-Muhaddhab:

“A woman is not required obliged to serve her husband by baking, grinding flour, cooking, washing, or any other kind of service, because the marriage contract entails, for her part, only that she let him enjoy her sexually, and she is not obligated to do other than that.”

Note: This is included in Reliance of the Traveller, w45.1.

Exactly.

Isn't it better to come home to a wife that doesn't smell like suugo and sweat from cleaning the house AND chasing the kids.

Some of these guys are focused on the wrong things. :ftw9nwa:

If I was a man, I'd want to come home to a happy, perfumed, well-dressed wife who can entertain me after a long day at work.

Why not meal-prep together and plan food for the whole week so you can enjoy each other instead of bickering about household chores.

How will you entertain him when he has to cook for you and clean and dish out your salary for taking care of your own children:gucciwhat:

@Abdisamad3 kkkk sister @Mercury was very succesful with her propaganda. The ladies here now claim, that they don't have to cook.
:mjlol:
He's misleading these ladies..
In all societies gaalo or Muslim the women do mostly the cooking and cleaning for the family.. Just ask any person it's pretty normal to cook food for your husband and kids. But I think these girls lack cooking skills and they're too lazy to clean up their houeses/homes.. Its better to be a single man than marry such females.
