The War On Terror will most likely be the defining conflict of the century and cause the collaspe of nations, genocide against ethnic minorities and destablise the world.

Australian general made a statement a few years ago that the west should be prepared to fight for a 100 yrs against militant organisations in the Muslim World.

It seems probable that The War On Terror will probably cause the spark of WW3 in the near future

This is probably the most unpredictable war in which the outcome can not known except by Allah swt.

Why is your take on this?

I think the West has gained much from the War on Terror in both domestic and in geopolitical affairs. Fearmongering is a way for politicians to control the masses. Oppressive governments often maintain their grip on a nation by continually invoking fear, and then proceeding to claim that only they have the means and ability to protect the population from such a threat.

"The notion of a "war" against "terrorism" has proven contentious, with critics charging that it has been exploited by participating governments to pursue long-standing policy/military objectives, reduce civil liberties, and infringe upon human rights. Critics also assert that the term "war" is not appropriate in this context (much like the term "War on Drugs") since there is no identifiable enemy and it is unlikely that international terrorism can be brought to an end by military means."

I agree. Also these governments that exploit it could very well sow the seeds of their own destruction by dividing or alienating certain segments of their society which could cause civil unrest or even an insurgency

On the contrary, I think we're about witness the decline in Islamic extremism in the near future.

Terrorist organisations such as al shabab and isis have only suffered a conventional defeat. These types of groups are laying low and are hellbent on their war.
This war is far from over and any sign of a vacuum, they will try to fill it. Furthermore, so long as local grievences are not addressed, insurgencies will take root.

Europe will fall eventually due to the massive social change from immigration and the rise of nationalism and xenophobia
This will coincide with the rise of East Asia as a powerful regional bloc, spear-headed by China as the world superpower. How do you feel about that?

East Asia will mostly likely rise as the dominant economies of the world but they to are volatile. A war between India and Pakistan will have serious ramifications for China.
Also China has the uighur problem which could turn into a insurgency.

I think so long as China and East Asian countries in general avoid the War On Terror, they will do well politically and economically

I think they probably will avoid it. I am split. On the one hand I want the West to lose their global influence but I don't trust the Chinese/East Asians. At least Western Europe learned from their history. They are not as racist as East Asians (anymore) and the whole Uyghur situation is proof that the Chinese lack naxariis. Imagine if an ethnic/religious group were being genocided in America, France or England in the 21st century. China will probably economically colonise Africa too. Researchers are dubbing the 21st century as the "Asian century".
