They work like 50-60 hours a week on average as adults (workaholism) and their kids go to after-school cram school. That's weird to me.

Japan accepts only like 50 refugees per year, while Sweden takes in 50,000s-100,000s per year.

East Asians like other Right-wing/Nationalistic nations, such as Turkey, Russia e.g place the interests of their societies over the interests of the individuals, hence why they don't accept refugees into their countries because they're aware of the demographic/cultural problems facing Western countries; instead they prefer to help poor foreigners in their own countries, for example Japan's aid development projects in poorer countries in Asia, South america and Africa.

Russia is quite cosmopolitan and multiracial and treat their Muslims relatively well. Turkey as well (cosmo) with their Syrians.

Northeast Asians are simply on another level when it comes to their xenophobic policies.

Also, keep in mind that America forced Japan to modernize in the late 1800s and South Korea was forced to be modern due to the cold war.

I agree China treats their native minorities that they conquered like shit. However, Japan & Korea have the right to maintain their ethnic homogeneity.

Plus, the Japs responded very well to the increased pressure to open up for trade from the Western nations by adapting their Western technology & business and military practices, whilst still maintaining their ethnic homogeneity, culture & values, as a result Japan became a sovereign Imperial power as well. Although, China & Korea failed to adapt to the changing times & fell prey to Imperialism, and in Korea's case they fell prey to the Japanese Empire :icon lol:
