He’s not an intellectual but more like an attention seeker. His brother is the academic

He has accepted for his people second class citizenship in Somaliland. He is deeply mistaken about what Somaliland actually is. It is a state by and for the Isaaq and includes others to the bare minimum necessary to cloak that fact.

@Bohol this reminded me of a fadhi ku dirir session where a Gadabursi guy was complaining about how Somaliland does not spend enough in Awdal. An MJ guy said to the Gadabursi “adiga xaqdaro wada, niman ilma adeerayaal ah oo qasacad bariis ku wada shubtay ayaad rabtaa in aad la cuntid”. Samatar is a conquered man who thinks he has a stake in the state that conquered his people.

The Gadabursi are conquered people just like the afars of Djibouti playing second fiddles. I highly doubt the conquered people will ever taste the throne.

Having said that, they still fare better than the God forsaken southerners. The south is cursed. So the North is only thing Gadabursi got left. They better be patient and not violent. We can only hope a young Isaaq educated in the west will come to power and he better know a thing or two about equality and the pursuit of happiness for everyone. Today the north is ruled by SNM war lords. There is no justice.

How can you say he accepted second class citizens, when his clan was president of Somaliland for 8 years :draketf:

Your hatred for Somaliland is blatant:camby:

Better to have a stake in stable Somaliland, than nothing in lawless Somalia :damedamn:

Samatar run away from Somalia mainstream politics due to what he terms "duoplay" of Darood/Hawiye thinking Sland region is better he got a rude awakening though.

@Futurist it is about resource sharing. Awdal population despite being 20% of Somaliland region gets 5% of the funds/aid.

The politics in the Horn is bigger than Somalia/Somaliland/Puntland. The politics of nepotism is dying in the Horn of Africa region. But one thing will be for sure, the nepotism of one clan ruling will never last. Even Musa Bixi just finished building the Presidential palace in his village of Xaraf a few days ago:

Why move the Presidential palace from the capital city Hargeisa and move it to a tribal settlement?
Everyone is securing their areas. The next couple of years will be telling.
