Most nomads aided the colonial power as a shortcut to get wealth rivaling thr nobility and merchants.

Complete lie, half my family is from Zayla and other coastal urban centers. Only the interior plains were nomads.

Some Somalis settled into cities earlier than others, but that doesn't mean they weren't nomads

Zayla is one of the oldest cities in Africa, what do you mean before? We were known as Avalites (Awdalies) by the Jews and Romans

Again this is the problem I have with Somalis, they want to force the Nomad narrative on anyone, but want to claim Somali empires and achievements, that were not done by nomads. Yusuf Al Kownayn was not a nomad, Ahmed Gurey was not a nomad, all of our top figures were not nomads. That should be a clue.

Again this is the problem I have with Somalis, they want to force the Nomad narrative on anyone, but want to claim Somali empires and achievements, that were not done by nomads. So do you actually believe 3000 years ago that Somalis were city dwellers.

Humans went from hunter gatherers into either farmers or nomads. Unless your from certain rahanweyn clans or tradesmen like Tumaal and Yibir, then your ancestors were nomads before they settled into city life. This is a fact
