Also how come they have not found a person who is not of the European origin in remission or 'cured'??
Because these two patients have something in common. Their European ancestor survived the European version of Ebola, the black plague centuries ago. There is a group of White people whom have this in their DNA- its like a super DNA that fights the retro virus and puts it in check. While poor fresh Africans die upon getting infected within 7 years if not on medication

I dont think it is dangerous but expensive. The big damage a bone morrow plant can do is get rejected. Its not like a kidney or heart plant where its rejection can kill

The guy nearly died under treatment.
The complications that can occur under the transplant can be fatal.
He nearly died because when he went thru that procedure, he had nothing to lose. The guy was on his death bed. His remarkable recovery after the treatment was shocking to the medical community
