Why do somalis stare?

I was sitting in the bus and was minding my own business. I plugged my earphones in and was listening to some music. Suddenly i felt someone staring at me and i had to turn my head to see who was staring at me.

I like it. It is part of our culture . In fact sometimes if I am by couple of people having conversation I just chime in . Lol
Like the other two older fellows where talking about Puntland Elections and of course I put in my two cents completely uninvited.

I am completely comfortable if some Somali interrupts me. It is not considered rude at all

Cause back home everybody stares and its not considered rude thats why somalis are used to it

If you ever go back home not many Will say anything about youre staring

But if you have your phone out and filming many people Will get angry and call you out for it

In the West, Somalis don't stare at everyone, just other Somalis. It is very annoying, especially if you don't know/never seen the other person.

I find it unsettling and annoying because it makes me think I have something on my face but nope they just love staring at every Somali they see. I'm tempted to one day have an outburst at the next aunty that stares and be like nayaa where do you know me from :mugshotman:

Because people might beat you up in the west because staring too much is considered rude. The first thing they’ll say is “what are you staring at!?” So Somalis only do it to other Somalis.
