Besides religion what is the purpose of life for you??

Getting power and influence. This by establishing a company that accumulate money and also invest money.

This is what's makes sense to me and it makes me happy. You got to do what's right for you.

Somalis are at the lowest when it comes to income and wealth. We don't have many rich people. If we were more productive in the diaspora, we could have done so much more in Somalia.

You should spend time alone and plan out your life. I've planned out my life till I'm 65. And it has made me realize that life is short, and time moves fast.
how should i plan it, do u have guidelines i can follow?

so you see purpose in accumulating riches and improving your socio economic and that of fellow somalis??
what industry do you want to or have you already established yourself in?

Technology is also what creates medicines, finding diseases, and medical equipment, cars, trains, planes. You are being the stereotypical ignorant muslim now. You can be a muslim and still be part of this world.

Dude. It's more logical to plan out your life. And how are you being logical and say that technology is not important? You are preaching ignorance here.

I am preaching ignorance? Have you read Jacques Ellul's analysis of technology? This man was one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century. Have you studied his work?

The fact is I am well aware of your standard position- the one that is pushed.

But have you studied Ellul? Have you studied that side of the coin? I have examined the two sides of the coin- unless you've studied Ellul and others of that school, you only know one side of the coin.

Who is more ignorant, then? A person who has studied both sides of an issue or a person who has only studied one?

If you want to critique my school- by all means, I invite you to critique it!

But study it and examine it first. Then critique it. Otherwise you are preaching ignorance.

A smart person would know that technology like everything can be good and bad. Power can be used to help people or hold people down. I hope you know this. It all depends on the people. Not the technology itself.

Only a fraction of the technology today is used for weaponry. The rest is something that you and I are benefitting. You are using a computer or a phone right now. What the hell are you talking about man?
the best of tech or the most important of tech is those relating to weaponry.
tech is the most important today. it's literally the most influential industry and will be the next 100,000 of years

Technology refers to methods, systems, and devices which are the result of scientific knowledge being used for practical purposes. This can be everything.

When the wheel was invented 3500 B.C, that is also technology.

Where does the Quran or the Sunnah say "focus on technology"?

Honestly, I don't care about technology. What is the technology used for? Surveillance. Social control. Bombing Muslims.

The techno-enthusiasts say "it saves lives!". Gangsters also give money to the poor. El Chapo, Al Capone, etc. It doesn't make them not gangsters.

Technology is used for control. It promotes the centralization of power in the hands of the "elite". Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.

You can work in tech and make money if you want but it isn't part of being a good Muslim.
if the muslim world was on top of the tech industry today
islam would have been the dominate force in this world, you know that right??

the golden age of islam is responsible the core or the fundamentals the tech we use today is built on
(Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi) islam invented technology but after the downfall of islamic culture, Christians have become more intelligent then muslims and have taken our inventions and used it to dominate all areas of activity in this world.
there isn't one muslim country exploring space, we are soo far behind as a religion,
tech can empowring islam like it has empowered Christians
don't downplay tech, it's all that matters wallahi.

You are correct! The reason Islam was a stronger force, was because we were leading in technology and science. We valued knowledge and thus prospered.

Our nation is underdeveloped and the guy says that technology is not important.

he has that wahabi mindset, he must be of the Salafi movement.
those guys think taking a picture is harm:faysalwtf:
imagine that level of ignorance :ileycry:

salafi/wahabi cult is a whole different religion, the way they interpret islam is cancerous to say the least

Brother. Up til now, you have made weird points that don't make any sense. And then you quote me a random guy and then proceed by saying that you know both sides of the coin, and I don't.

How can I take you seriously when you say that planning out your life is not logical. Or that technology is not important? What two sides of the coin are you speaking of when saying ignorant stuff.

you have such a salafi victimhood mindset, technology isn't used to bomb muslims
if anything Bedouin low iq muslims use tech to do suicide bombing:francis:

just because gaalos are more tech savvy than you and have utilized tech to outmanoeuvre these anti-tech 16th century stuck MUZLAMICS it doesn't the sole purpose of tech is to harm muslims:draketf:.

Speaking with salafi/wahabi cult followers is a waste of time.

Technology is not important, money is not important. Stay malnourished and pray to God. Doesn't these people know that you can be a muslim and still focus on bettering your life? I don't take people seriously when they say, forget this life, don't focus on it. Get out of here with that shit. People in Somalia are suffering because of this doctrine. And look at saudi arabia, they have their stomachs full, while we are eating dirt. That's the reason I would rather side with the other blacks, because they at least are suffering like we do, while the arabs can't relate, and they only give us ignorant and dangerous doctrines producing al Shabaab and other madness

i hate people who think like him with a burning passion. i can't stand those type of extremist-like muslims who deprecate tech to feel better about themselves, deep down they wish the islamic world was at the forefront of technology but because that isn't the reality and those who they consider their enemies are the geniuses of the tech world, they downplay the importance of it to feel better about themselves instead of admitting defeat and learning from the mistakes muslims have made that lead to the downfall of the islamic golden and reflecting on how islam could once again run this science.:ivers:
there is more to tech than a lucrative career omar del sur u dumbfuck :ileycry:
not surprised that a large number of so called religious Zoo*malians are so drawn to this mindset, 68 IQ LEVEL need i remind u :dabcasar:

i have not studied the work of this conspiracy theorist but it's good to know that he keeps you sleep at night :gaasdrink:

there is a reason why the poorest muslim nation somalia and people who are of the lowest income groups are so drawn to those cults of islam , it panders to them.

I want to develop my tuulo and region. I want to build water wells, schools, businesses, masjids, etc. I also want to push back against the jaahilnimo that is so common in our society, the jaahilnimo that leads to rapes not being properly investigated and the mentally ill being tied to trees.

As someone who was placed into the west by Allah, I feel that it is my duty to use the resources and knowledge that I acquire here to improve the condition of Somalis back home. That is my life's purpose.
The very premise of the OP is a bad premise, leading astray. We should not even accept the premise and not even accept the question. Its answer is "nothing". This dunya is not worth the wing of a mosquito. The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, “The truest words spoken by a poet were the words of [the pre-Islamic poet] Labid. He said, ‘Lo, Everything apart from Allah is vanity and falsehood…” [Bukhari]
I agree but I think OP was looking for a larger variety in answers than just "religion". He probably just worded it wrong. Look at my answer for example. I never mentioned religion once but it is the underlying reason for everything. Without the diin, I would just earn my wealth in the west and spend it there. Why worry about a country that I have never seen? The diin expands your worldview and makes you realize how small and pitiful that way of thinking really is.

al Shabaab was literally created from thin air by these type of guys, they turn clan warfare into a religious war
they think everything need a religious solution

:gaasdrink:for me it would be to destroy qabilism
push for reunification of somalis

and to help create the cushitic nationalist movement and help
create the first pan cushitic nationalist party or at least inspire the development
and creation of such an entitiy
cushitic??
somalis are not tolerant people so how will that happen?

it's funny somalis are the most docile group in the horn yet the least tolerant just because of religion, take islam away especially the recent extreme version of islam from somalis AND YOU HAVE A WEAK LOW IQ PASSIVE BETA RACE that could be conquered by habesha in a matter of days
we don't know how to integrate people into our ethnic group properly

I'm not hating but you have no idea what tomorrow brings. Whatever you write and think will happen- I am sure and you can be sure, things will work out totally differently. You have no idea and I have no idea.
i think we already know that :camby:
you're saying that like it's mind blowing ?? :damedamn:

Who cares about "in theory"- we don't live "in theory".

We live in this world and what matters is how things happen in practice. And as far as knowledge, we're supposed to seek knowledge of Islam.

Of course you can be into technology, science and all that and I'm not saying it's wrong- however, it's not necessary for a Muslim to be into that stuff,

If we're totally honest, we who are interested in that stuff are interested in it for money, money, money.

I myself am interested in technology. I'm interested in it for money, money, money. I'm not under any illusion that science is going to save society. It's only going to be used to enslave it. I made a thread providing a bunch of material on this topic but no one responded to the thread. That doesn't reflect on the validity of my material, however.

Anyways, I recommend The Technological Society by Ellul to understand the function of technology. I am not saying that we have to be like the Amish and totally reject the use of technology. I myself am interested in tech and money, money, money..... I have expenses like anyone else.... but we should not be under illusions as to the social function of technology.
by the way that profile pic looks very haram

is that suppose to allah's hand? :faysalwtf:
cuz that's what it's insinuating
