This is madness we don't need. Having thousands of km of coastal line is meaningless unless you have something to export through it. We can use Djibouti, Eritrea and Somaliland even Sudan and Kenya ports. We should let all of them compete for Ethiopian goods and we will choose the cheapest with better and faster service. This is way more important for us than perusing the unity madness and wasting our energy on something which no one needs.
PM Abiy should stop this madness, we need to focus on manufacturing and try to export more processed goods and not invest in this stupid idea of horn unity. We also should invest in IT, Telecom and tourism businesses that need no port to export. We should build these sectors to become one of the dominants in Africa just like Ethiopian Airlines. We should also focus on exporting goods to the African countries, these too will not need ports. These are all the areas we should focus and not on this useless horn unity crap.
Horticulture for example doesn't need ports and we are earning hundreds of millions from it thanks to Ethiopian Airlines world class cargo service.
