sources in garowe say that the right hand of Corrupt Gaas and the speaker of puntland parliament has announced he won’t run for re-election after his clan elders accused of corruption and denied him the ticket!

Corrupt Gaas has lost an ally and further more dimished his chances of returning

The president, Vice President and Speaker all run individually. Unlike other states where they all have different agendas and work for outside interests, everyone knows thier lane in PL. If he decides to go, no problem. Another speaker will be chosen.

That has weakened Corrupt Gaas significantly since that guy helped him clinched the seat last election. More reasons to believe Corrupt Gaas is gone

When I see non bah dirooble president, will I say with a clear conscious, PL is moving away from tradition and history. The last non bah dir rooble who tried(jama ali jama) he is nowhere to be seen today. But there is hope if reer mahad stepped aside and let reer abdulle(gaas) be president, this could signal also a change in osman mahmoud where the non bah dirooble also run which we see in high number this elections. We will see.

Bah Dir Rooble is bah dir, bah yacqoub and bah dhulbahante clans of osman mahmoud, usually the presidency is reserved for bah dir and bah yacqoub. Will puntland begin to slowly change this policy of reserved presidencies within mahmoud saleban, if so this could lead to in the future 'ali saleban and other harti' becoming president also. Change must start from within, it can't start from outside.
