I never cease to be amazed by the lack of empathy and shame the users on this forum could have.

Her own parents sent her to an extremely violent camp where they chained and beat the living shit out of her with ropes and broomsticks, along with other girls every single day you disgusting morons. Who sends their child to be viciously beaten, in order to become a better Muslim, and what kind of parent does that to their own child, puts them in such danger and pain? NOT a loving one, and more like a mentally unstable demon.

Good post. Im sorry for what the sister went through. Its just a sad case. The parents were ignorant and even though their intention were good. They really messed up.

First, welcome to Somalispot. Secondly, I’m very sorry what you went through. Thirdly, you’ve started a movement because your case has been well publicised in the diaspora and many parents are now having second thoughts in sending their kids to the torture chambers they themselves escaped. Be strong and fight for the rights of these children abused by those who were supposedly to love and care for them. They are evil parents.

You bring up one of the biggest issues in our community. This is one of the biggest taboos in our community. The issue with parents. How many Somali youth have been destroyed mentally, psychologically, and emotionally by people who were suppose to love and nurture them? Look at all the dysfunction in our community among the youth. A lot of that can be attributed to what began at home.

But if you talk about this issue, you get called "caasi" and then people attack your own parents and make it personal. Best to keep your mouth shut in this case and let the cycle repeat itself until this community either implodes or disintegrates entirely over the generations here in the west.
