I'm getting sick and tired of seeing that meek GDP so shameful and disappointing. It's lower than Zimbabwe and all those other shitty countries.

We cant tap into the oil cuz there’s no central power

We have metal resources and uranium which has more value than oil and we still have not tapped into those reserves. Not to mention our underground water reserves are untapped and could provide fresh water for the whole of somalia. This government is so disappointing honestly.

Yes but we have lots of resources and metal resources to build cities and equipment for ourselves. We don't need to beg the international community. China built themselves up using their own resources and with minimal help from the west who were trying to force opiods down their throats at the time. We too can build our own country ourselves! all we need is good leadership, love for our fellow tribes and to use our man power to mine our resources. We should spend more time gathering knowledge from the international community on how to mine our own resources and create our own equipment then to beg them for money constantly.

Good luck with how hostile elders are when it comes to development they'll most likely cockblock any attempt with unukah lehians rhetoric

No large amount of oil is found in somalia to date though oil seeps were found near berbera (British followed up on it but found little to nothing)
The next was finding oil shales in present day sool(they said this area probably had amount camperable to Scottish oil shales) but like everything else in somalia it has draw backs it had high sulfur(similar to alaska) to be valuable at that time ofcourse technology has changed now and can be used though it takes more money to remove the sulfure.
@Reiko uncle foorale conned australian oil company and @AussieHustler not long ago into digging bari for oil only to find water:lolbron:
After that is bunch of guessing and hoping there is zero proof there is even oil in the ocean this claim only came post 2012 out of nowhere:mjlol:

bruv bp and shell were very close to starting operations but due to security reasons its wasnt possible. Its even said that oil will be exploited from 2020 onwards when the security improves. Somalia could be the top 5 oil producer. Somalia has more oil than nigeria, uae, kuwait only saudi has more oil and russia.

How much would the gdp rise to after oil profits? do you have an approximate estimate? saudi arabia were robbed by american companies before they nationalised the oil profits and earned only a total of 600 billion from most of their oil esports.

Am well aware of this am from the village they were exploring:ninja:
The best thing to happen when it comes to resources was the civil war had siyaad Barre stayed you would have situation like Nigeria where small elite politicians benefit.

I dont like dislikes:4uzpnkt:
I'll answer your question even though you gave dislike for my insightful post.
Depending on how much you export a
A day countries like Saudi Arabia exports 7 million each day if for example we export 1 million (comparable to mexico and iran)
The oil company would make 70 million each day multiplied by 364 for year total would be 25 billion now the foreign company would probably get 80-90%(3rd world gets fucked over alot) the answer would be 2.5 billion to 5 billion if it's 5 billion it would double the country gdp.

Sol

?
The world is moving away from oil with numerous countries in the west phasing out from petrol cars and opting to use renewable for the majority of their energy needs, Somalia is blessed with both solar and wind energy which is actually easier to start harnessing in terms of infrastructure compared to oil. Oil can be both a blessing and a curse depending how soon Somalia extracts it and whether or not they rely on it for the countries energy needs hopefully Somalia takes the renewable energy route and avoids all the corruption that comes with oil (see Nigeria).
