He was highly educated and spent lot of time in the South during his PM days that is why his accent is more neutral. If you see someone with a thick northern accent (or any regional accent for that matter) it usually means they aren't well-educated.

Yup. Southerners speak very softly as compared to gobolada dhexe. At least that's how it sounds to me.

Daroods are the keepers off the Somali language from great poets like jaamac keediye and the sayid to shire jamac who made the Somali alphabet. Its not about the type of regional accent but about the strength.
A deep southern accent is just as off-putting as a thick northern one.
Best accent is a neutral one that everybody can equally understand. When these people speak you can't tell where they're from.
