Arabian Somalis can't speak English?

We just took 'kangaroo' from English.
No old time Somali had ever seen one to give it a native name.

Oh btw do you know of resources for learning to speak fluent Somali?
I.e to the point you understand all the old poetry and can write a PHD in Somali?

The ones in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain etc can only speak Arabic.Also, notice how so few of them are on SSPOT despite them being in the tens of thousands.
It shouldn't be surprising that Somalis in non-English speaking countries can't speak English. If they didn't know English back in Somalia, why would they suddenly learn it in Arabic speaking countries?
They only speak Arabic for the same reason many of us only speak English: it's one of the most powerful languages in the world.
Unlike with Swahili and Swedish, there is an Arabic dub for every piece of media, Arabic translations for every service, and a massive population of Arabs (0.5 billion!) that produce their own Arabic media. There is absolutely no reason for someone fluent in Arabic to learn English just like I have no real reason to learn French.
Some punks on this forum think English is more important than Arabic.
Arabic is important for every Muslim around the world. Agnostics and atheists on this forum don't represent the vast majority of Somali Muslims who prefer Arabic over English for religious purposes.
