Chaotic Somalia!!

I just received news that some person known by a family friend was killed in somalia. Now get this! this is the part that makes me sick to my stomach. The man owned houses in somalia and before he came to work in the west, he allowed his vrother to live in his house in order for them to take care of the place. Apparently the brother after many years of hard work decided that he wanted to go back home to live in his house in somalia. When he returned and the brother found out that his brother would want him and his family to move out, he killed his brother in order to keep the house. I have never felt so disappointed in my life. This is the place that i wanted to buy a house thinking that the comfort of my own clan would allow me to retire in my own hometown and to possibly lead a career in politics to help make life better for the next somali generation. This news however shocks me! it's sickening that our ppl are so backwards and would do such things, even in the throes of poverty i would conduct myself in a respectful manner. This has got me reconsidering investing to live permanently back home Or at least until i've educated my children and established them in the west. I don't want to end up getting killed like malcom x by my own ppl, just because little yakuub tried to play robbin hood and it pissed off some jealous locals. May god cure our ppl of their vicious nature, although i don't know if the brother suffered from mental health or not. I'm seriously starting to have second doubts about going back home until i'm old and ready to die. My grandfather owns land in erigavo and even that i'm wondering which cousin will kill me for if i try to develop that region for the sake of the whole community. I ain't no coward and am willing to die for my dream country to be realised, but i would prefer to settle down and raise my family first before undergoing a suicide mission such as living in the land of the predators and mentally deranged khat eaters.

Sorry if i seem negative! it's just that i'm freaked out that such an even could happen. The south has al-shabaab and the north has jealous relatives. If you guys want to move to somalia i suggest you have 100 strong children to defend you in your old age or these snakey relatives might kill you and take your wealth.

My dad has sent $20k to his nephew over the years to build him a house. He took the money and ran away. My dad was pissed off. People in somalia lost their morals after being in war for 30 years.

They can't do things like that over there. You get the police and courts involved.

i understand why white people retire in spain and itlay and pourtgal, they do that because they want to live their best life, why should i move to my clans homestead, under jungle laws when i can live in peace and better health in a gated community in malta, dubai, oman heck even tadjoura

This doesnt only happen in somalia,heard the same stories from diaspora africans and indians
This swahili tz diaspora was poisoned by his blood relatives because of the same situation,he built a house he let his brother and his family live there for 20years,when he was in his 50s he wanted to retire back home they poisoned him,or when diasporas send money back home to build or buy land they eat the money and do nothing,one had a mental break down from tanzania after sending money to his father for years to buy land build houses,the father married 3 wives and played with his own sons future and money,it all depends with the type of relative you have,dont trust them just because they are relatives

It's poverty man. Look at what europe was like during the dark ages. Read up on the war of the bucket. A whole town was slaughtered because one guy stole the other town's bucket. Education saves men from savagery.

It's not the common thief you gotta look out for it's your own relatives, who write their names on your house and tear up your deed.

That's all it comes down to.

I don't care if half the country is burning as long as I'm able to protect my own assets and IP.

Until that's sorted out then I'm not planning to invest in mainland Somalia regardless of the opportunities.

All the rich guys in Somalia have their own militia. Can you imagine, one well known businessman has 300 militia soldiers watching his compound in Xamar. Even the gov't can't touch guys like that. But I don't blame them, that's the only way to survive in Somalia.

@Yaquub you would post all these dreams of developing in Somalia and now this thread. You've been redpilled but don't lose complete hope, Somalia is growing faster than many countries. Its not for the faint of heart though, taking a life is nothing there.

You can't be overly optimistic or overly pessimistic, just be a realist.

I want to help the community by building centres and restaurants and perhaps then if i provide jobs for their sons the community members won't kill me out of jealousy.
