Anyhow:

Communism moto = sharing is caring
Socialism moto = survival of the fittest
Somali moto = qoloma tahay

@Jerome in the house, you've been lied to. Communism is not evil at all, though it has been used by evil people throughout history. It rather provides, as a political theory and not in practical implementation, an excellent and necessary critique of the societies we live in today and have lived in historically. Read up on it yourself and don't listen to anyone telling you it's evil.

Karl Marx made actually very good analyses of capitalism and foresaw the many problems it would bring forth. It was as if he predicted the future. His attempt in finding an alternative as mentioned was not practical at all. In communism there is no room for talent or I think any individual development. I do believe it is important to read his work, makes you see life in a different perspective. I went through my own anti-capitalism phase, started to delve into it for some time.

Found out later Marx was a racist though.

Going to your question: Well in a nutshell communism is the idea of a govt taking full control of your financial. Like China. The State decides everything from health care, to taking 50% of income taxes, to put restriction on how much property u can own. Basically u r not an individual, u r part of a state. One identity. If u live in a third word communist country like Cuba, the govt gives u a pay check if u dont have a job.
