The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities?

That must be hella awkward. Every single Somali being in a single university lol.

Or do you guys even go to university/college? :gucciwhat:

UMN is a good college though. In-state tuition is cheaper too. If I lived there I wouldn't go to a different state unless I had a scholarship or if it was an Ivy(or equivalent)

They have many community colleges where they get 2 years associate degrees equivalent to A -levels. Then they go to university for another 2 years. They either go to private or state universities in MN. Many Somalis at UMN though

Also the Somali student association at UMN does big great events but I heard the qabyaalad a few years ago got so bad that it was shut down for some time. They were fighting about the leadership positions and it became tribal asf :snoop:

UMN is nice and cheap. I like it. It also offers many events for students and has many Somalis. The other options are Duluth umn which has a lot of Cadaan and 0 Somalis or SCSU which is in St. Cloud. A redneck racist village

I don't think it's awkward. It's good to see fellow Somalis in university.

There’s more than 20 colleges in minnesata and with online&consortium courses most Somalis can take courses from any college that would help them finish their prerequisites for their programs

University of Minnesota is very selective. Students with high GPA usually get accepted into these types of unis.
Universities with average GPA requirements are called state universities so Metropolitan State University located in the twin city is the one most Somalis go to besides community colleges.

Spring 2017 I saw another Somali dude on my campus and was like :ohhh:. I wasn’t the only Somali dude here. I ended up shaking hands with him. During fall I ran into another one on campus and had a convo with him. It’s legit rare for me to see another Somali at school.

I think the uni I am transferring too has more.

I'm in the same boat as you but in the UK. It's rare whenever I see another Somali in my uni, I take a double take every time I see one lol

In forgot to add but i had a xalimo in my calc course during the summer. Last summer I had a Xalimos in my pre calculus course.
I spoke to her like twice that semester. That's about it.
Besides those incidents I was probably the only Somali on campus.
