@anonymous34 My take on this walaal is that Japan and Korea want to persuade the West.

Dragon Ball Z, Yu Gi Yo, Naruto, Pokemon, etc is just a gimmick to get people to fantasize about Asian culture.

I would advise anyone not to fall for it.

Excluding the politicians, most Koreans & Japanese don't give a shit about the west. Brainwash kulaha.

My fellow anime-watches, anime is not for weirdos
Yes, it is. Most anime is made by antisocial creeps who have never talked to women. And their main audience are NEETs.
The "normal" Japanese people look down on Otakus who are into anime, gaming, idols etc..That's a fact.
Reading manga is much more acceptable. It's quite common to see salary men reading manga during long train and bus commutes.

Just like in Japan, Korean idols & their fans aren't that much respected in Korea either. The idols aren't even considered musicians.
Their main audiences are usually elementary school girls for boy groups & the NEETs for the girl groups.

actually, other than that group bts, kpop has almost died out :cosbyhmm:

nobody even talks about it anymore

jpop died 10 years+ ago

dunno about anime :ayaanswag:

Yeah, I don't understand the fuss either. Excluding the Bts fans, I barely know any kpop fans.

Yup. J-music(I think J-rock was the more popular genre) is pretty much dead now. I think the main reason why the Westerners moved on to K-music is due to Japan's strict copyright laws. You've to buy a license from the record label/creator in other to upload/use their music. CDs make up more than 80% of the music sales. Streaming is alien to them.

As for Anime, it's made by and for the Japanese people only. The Japanese don't really see the "dirty gaijins" as legitimate audience.
Tbh, I don't see Anime dying in the west anytime soon. They don't bother buying stuff anyways, they just pirate it, lol.

When it comes to manga; the printing industry is slowly dying. Just like with manhwa(webtoons/korean comics), they'll be forced into the digital age pretty soon. Most female magazines have already moved to online publishing.:zhqjlmx:

J-drama & movies are doing quite well in Japan. The female presence is really huge here. While most shounen manga get adapted to anime, the shoujo & josei manga usually get adapted to drama series. Their main audiences are from teens to housewives. Housewifery is still a respectable job in Japan, while men are slaving away working all day and night, all women do is watch Fuji TV.
And we wonder why the suicide rate among the Japanese men is so high. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajicun. :ileycry:

Otakus are those with high obsession towards Anime AND manga. Not just manga. Being obsessed with anything is a bit weird though, the actual concept of anime is just a cartoon with its own style

My problem is not with the anime/cartoon itself, it's the industry. The male otakus control the entire anime industry with their money. They refuse to see other anime made for other audiences. That's why the fujoshis/fangirls are a threat to them, recently. They get soooo salty whenever anime intended for females is announced. Anime is not what it was like back in the 80s, 90s and the early 00s. The focus back then was on actual storytelling. Also, a lot of producers wanted to draw in western audience that's why the common themes used to be cyberpunk, action etc. Cowboy Bebop, Trigun etc. were made with that mind. The anime industry was in a slump for quite a while until the idols & the LN Otakus took over it. The main purpose of Anime now is to promote the source material be it manga, light novels, games etc. That's why 1 cour anime are much more common now compared to a decade ago.
Too many trashy & half-assed anime getting made now, so yes, I still stand by what I said before, anime is mainly watched by weirdos.:vqbuyv0:
Even when the content of an anime show isn't "weird", the fans always find ways to turn it into something weird. I'm looking at you, shippers.:vqbuyv0:

Strictly manga fans who don't watch/rarely watch anime, from my experience, are much more tamer and sane.:zhqjlmx:

What is anime??? Horta wayaabe!!

Somali men in the west act like naago like him they watch children cartoons like these/
