Didn’t arabs use to worship the moon before islam?
The arabs worshiped idols. But Yemen arabs worshiped the moon, we know that because Queen sheeba was their queen and Prophet Suleiman saved her people. Now Prophet Suleiman pbuh came long time ago, my hunch is longer after the times of Queen Sheeba and Prophet Suleiman pbuh, the Yemenis went back to worshipping idols.
Worshipping cows is a new thing. I find that odd. Especially that Somalis cherished goats and camels more than cows.

And also the fact that Somalia became 100% Muslims is amazing to me. It tells me--first our genealogy has nothing to with Ethiopians otherwise Christianity would have reached us. And Second, that Somalis must have been originally a tribe of arabs who relocated to Somalia. The migration of persecution perhaps? Proof that we are arabs is our Islam, and the came camel affinity.
But our DNA from ancestry dot come says a different story. And we know DNA dont lie. So maybe our Original Y chromosome was arab, but through generation of females, it got lost but we still maintain the none negroid lookds as is evidenced in Somali women marrying blacks and their children soft of looking Somalis but not really. Just we sort of look arab but not really!

We worshipped a monotheistic diety called Waaq. Southern Somalia was the last to become Muslim as evident with the holiday Dabshid which still survived and celebrated. We probably worshipped Egyptian gods as point as well since we use words like Qorac to describe sunshine when Rah was also God of the Sun.
