Somali's are loud in real life and loud on the internet. We're just a very prominent group wherever we are. We stand out more than most other ethnicities. It used to be a good thing in the past because we had sharaf, but now we're a disgrace.

This "My people are cursed. Oh woe is me" talk is weak. Shit's no better than whatever's going on in Twitter.

Its our nature we are loud gregarious people compare to an Ethiopian even though they have a much larger population they are more reserved and quiet. We love qayloo and buuke.

Their single, bored, childless, and unmarried. Such a large number of women with too much free time spend too much time on social media bullshit and other malaayacni.

If a man has too much free time he's much more likely to spend it on topics such as politics, religion, culture, history, sport, technology and science.
Women on the other hand it's rihanna, Chris Brown and instagram.

I think this behavior is found mainly among teenagers and those who are in their early twenties.
However I don't think it is something that is unique to Somalis only, as many of you are portraying on here. But if you pay close attention to other ethnicities, you can clearly see that they are as vocally obnoxious, rude and disrespectful, as the Somalis you see on social media and outside. They are trying to "find" themselves as cadaan people would say, hahaha
No but in all seriousness, one has to understand the psychology behind the culture of our youths today(I feel so old now). We are experiencing the development of a generation of youth who lacks the ability to interpret "normal" communication, they are disadvantaged when it comes to learning how to interact in the most fundamental and original methods our forebears have passed down to us. Communications is not only words or speech but also body language, facial expressions, gestures etc. What social media is doing to this generations is redefining that normal way of behavior, you can't really communicate with things like emoticons, memes, and GIFs, (okay I take that back), my point is, many people are ruthless online and disrespectful, they think this is the normal way of behaving and bring it outside to public places. It doesn't take them anywhere, it's just a phase and they eventually grow out of it, hopefully.
I don't see Somalis, or other ethnicities for that matter, aged 25+ having the behaviors described by some of you in the thread. Even if there are some who act like that, they are often on something or have some other issues, I believe.
If you guys have watched the Zombie movie Warm Bodies, this particular scene where people are walking around with phones without looking at each other and having eye contact is what makes this generation dehumanized zombies. I'm glad I'm not a slave to social media.

Since I'm part of this. Anime cool af. Big anime fan here. Lack of hobbies wise, Parents counldnt really afford to put me in sports clubs so it was either hoop with the homies in my neighborhood play video games or watch anime. Those big three only. Unlike "Lucas and Doug" who went hunting every other weekend with their families and canoeing I couldn't do none of that

not a huge fan of large somali female presence on twitter due to gender wars and gassing ajanabi men but it can be slightly helpful when it comes to somalis who want to showcase their talent and I feel like somali Twitter supports and help that seen some success tbh.
