Why is britain such an unhappy place?

I have friends who live in the UK , they tell me how bad the weather is and how everyone is always miserable.
The roads are narrow etc .. Why do Somalis choose to live in the UK?

You cannot deny the lack of order and poor public services in Britain. However, why do Somalis move from other European countries to Britain?
I live in the Midlands and literally everyone I know was born in continental Europe. So why have their parents moved to this gloomy island?
Well first is religious freedom, in the Uk no one bats an eye to what you wear say and do.People attribute that to our lack of Integration. In the uk Somalis are concentrated in particular places with other migrant communities and sometimes you see entire neighbourhoods purely inhabited by Somalis only. These neighbourhoods also happen to be the most lacking in all areas, terrible schools and healthcare.Secondly, the bureaucratic process here. In the uk it is ten times easier to open a business,community centre and to invest. Whilst in continental europe too many paperwork for everything. Life in the uk is easy, you won't have to look hard for halal food and you hardly experience any discrimination. This is all in my opinion.

1. The weather is bad all year long. 2 days of sunshine is offset by 2 weeks of rain.

2. Almost nothing is free save the NHS and education until you're 18.

3. Congestion, travel delays and tube strikes are very common. If you live outside the city and drive into the city to work, be prepared to have back problems because of sitting in the M1 traffic.

4. Shops close early and most services aren't available on weekends unless it's A&E.

5. Most high streets are filled with nitties and pigeons. Not sure which of the two i hate more.

6. Healthy food is expensive and garbage food is also expensive. Infact nothing can be considered cheap unless you buy wholesale from Tescos and Lidl, if you're willing to have horse meat extraction in your frozen hilib ofcourse.

7. British people are the worst alcoholics. They can chug down 5 pints in 30 minutes and now Harry from Sales is spudding you because he's got a neighbour who is Black like you.

I didn't choose lol, my parents brought me here, also the land is tiny compared to North America, which is why the houses are shit and everyone is close to each other. Then again, other European countries arent as bad. The weather is absolutely terrible though.

It's miserable uff I can't wait to leave :kanyehmm:

Sometimes I get the feeling that nobody likes leaving here but because they became comfortable they have convinced themselves that it ain't so bad.

Most Somali parents I come across all want to leave and go back to Somalia.

Exactly, plenty of other lovely cities and towns. I’m guessing @Active asylum friends live in London which as a major global city will have its fair share of big city problems.

Agreed. There are many pleasant places, but we Somalis copy one another and settle in one place.

Most parents only wanted to come here for a few years before going back to Somalia
Shame the situation was getting worse not better

For religious freedom. The UK as you can see isn't banning hijab in school or banning niqab.like other European countries. Plus there was already alot of muslim asians here who already have masjids halal food etc. You feel more comfortable because of that easily integrate.
