East Africa is like the rest of the civilised world, its Starting institution penalty = 0% and the technological level is 3

West Africa has +50% starting institution penalty meaning it takes them twice as long to develop basic institutions, and a technology level of 2, even central Asian nomadic barbarians who do nothing but pillage and kill have a higher technology higher level :dead::dead1::deadmanny:

Historically Somalia was divided into clans and yet they still managed to prosper and even affect world history as you can see from my original post. Yet no Somali clan can hold a candle light to their past glory, some kingdoms had a shipbuilding industry that exported goods all the way to China and settled parts of Madagascar and the Seychelles, some clans fought off Portuguese naval invasions single handidly where did this intelligence and cunning go.......

Ajuran got got it's traits during the new dlc cradle of civilization I think. I don't like it though they nerfed the ottomans I know they were over powered Af but now mamluks could kick their ass

Bro check out hearts of iron 4 I personally don't like it but their is a sweet ass mod called kaiserraich and Somalia is independent ruled by Mohamed Ali shire that alone makes me want to buy the game :banderas:

All it takes is one generation to ruin it all, look at the ottomans and how the arabs ruined it for all the muslims.

I already have the game, i downloaded a full system mod called Millennium Dawn that is regularly updated, its set in the 21st century and i play as Somalia most of the time. The first thing i do in every new game is invade Somaliland :dabcasar: with two or three Battalions. After uniting the country i introduce Educational reforms and try to improve industry. Once the country is settled i manufacture tanks and planes, guns and ammo and prepare for war with Ethiopia over the Ogaden.:denzelnigga:

Even the Ajurans being the only hydraulic empire in Africa in the 13th century. Sigh, we had a nice past.

I'm not a fan of the focus tree system unless you play with big countries you most likely get the default focus tree that's why I don't want to buy it only kaiserraich gave Somalia a decent focus tree although it was too short for my liking
