The enmity for puntland is all too evident on this thread any development or investment puntland gets is seen as a threat comparing somaliland deal which includes a military base to puntland deal which is soly to expand the bosaso port is preposterous.

Somalia’s Federal government has given a Turkish firm a long-term contract to run and upgrade the Mogadishu international airport, Horseed Media learns.

Turkish construction Albayrak Group and Somali government officials signed a 20-year agreement to upgrade and run the operation of the port by the firm.

The Albayrak Group Company is charged with bringing in new technology to modernize the cargo hub to international standards.

Somali labourers at the port raised concerns about the move, insisting that their jobs will be handled by Turks.

‘’We will no longer be employed nor have the opportunity to work at the port. All our jobs are going to be handled by Turks and we don’t know how we will earn our livings,’’ said one of the labourers.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced recently that Turkey plans to open its largest military base outside its borders in Somalia near Mogadishu airport during 2017. The base, which foundations were laid in March 2015, will occupy 400 hectares and house three military schools, dormitories and depots, over an area of 400 acres, at a cost of $50 million.

The Turkish facility in Somalia is the second military base established by Ankara overseas, after opening its first military base in Qatar. Turkey’s first military instillation in the Middle East began operation in November 2015, under an agreement between Turkey and Qatar in December 2014, aimed at upgrading cooperation in the fields of military training, defense industry, joint military exercises and mutual positioning of troops.

Kenya and Somalia have Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding on their common Maritime Boundary.
The agreement was signed by Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Moses Wetang'ula on behalf of Kenya, while the Minister for National Planning and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somalia, Hon. Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame signed the accord on behalf of Somalia.

There is no colonialism only in the mind of the moryaan who excuses his failures on the white man or whatever other oppressive force he imagines stalls him. You are the product of failure and you live in a completely different era, it's like this guy thinks he has a sword in his hand in the 16th century. By what right does Xamar expect Puntland to bear the burden of its decisions while reaping the benefits of them? No one is beholden to Xamar and there's nothing to betray, the selective outrage is what should be abundantly clear to all Puntlanders reading this thread, it's their tribalism at display not yours so don't ever fall into the trap of faux nationalism. They expect you to forego your future for theirs, for an interest you do not share.

We came to the truth of the matter in what @CangeeroBear said, the destruction of Puntland and of course the moryaan agrees it's his whole purpose for life. Being able to strike deals on our own, venture and invest in our own region is the root cause of their hatred. To be called traitor or selling out by baseborn scum you share no interest with is disgusting to me. To whom do we owe loyalty to reer Puntland? Ourselves or moryaans.
