Why are somali girls who are comfortable with their sexuality shamed?

I know we come from a culture where sex and sexuality is such a taboo thing. But its 2018 times have changed. There is no reason to make your daughters, sisters, etc feel ashamed about their bodies and sexuality. I especially don’t get why we’re pushing it on young girls. It is psychologically damaging to tell girls they should be ashamed of the natural feelings they have. Xishood works both ways and will never be gender specific.

Before all of you abdis lose your minds I’m only here to start discourse relaxationnnnn, take a chill pill, calm down

We r governed by Islam. So....your arguments dies right here.

They are called if they wear jeans. This is why many Somali girls (and guys) are socially awkward people and can't hold conversations except with other Somalis; they are shamed at any moment. It does a number on you.

Did your parents, brothers, aunties, uncles whatever make you feel ashamed of your sexuality or body? Who is saying this to you?

There is nothing wrong with a bit of xishood. We don’t need to talk about it with everyone.

What Somali girl only knows 5 or 6 other somali girls do you specialize in being a dumbass or were you born this way

still doesn't change the fact that your opinion is based on generalisation.. Count yourself lucky that you are not living in India or Yemen where women have much less freedom compared to Somalia.

I’m not allowed to wear anything that isn’t loose fitted even inside my own home ^^ & true we don’t have to talk about it with everyone but my brothers are so open about things with no one nagging them but as soon as I say anything remotely similar to them I am told to xishood

Not entirely I’m in a gc with 30 other Somali girls with the same experiences as me. Not only that but there r a million tweets regarding this topic ^^ so for it to be talked about so much by adolescent Somali girls on the interwebs it has to be a problem no? Also somalis households are freakishly similar.

I wouldn’t wear leggings around them either. What did you say to them that made them tell you that?
