Proxy wars is nothing new, this is the century of using Islamist groups as proxy wars, originally it was to destabilize a country and they had one master and a few foot soldier slaves, today this has changed.

Syria is the perfect example to illustrate, as Aleppo was about to fall, ISIS took over heavily fortified Palmyra in the East, to shame the Russian’s and Iranian’s, that were shaming the Empire for Aleppo's fall.

The same game has been happening with Al-Shabab as is currently happening with the Syrian rebels; it has been broken into various different fractions and battalions with different world leaders.
