"We're going to have to send China a clear signal that first, the island-building stops and second, your access to those islands also is not going to be allowed"-Rex W. Tillerson.

Looks like this dispute will serve as a spark for WW3, so how do you think such a conflict will play out and who will be the likely victor in a showdown between China & USA and what will Russia's role be in the conflict?

:what1:

walle China is bullying its neighbors

They have to, if they don't control the South China sea, the US can easily blockade them. They have to break out of the 1st island chain and into the Pacific in order to become a real power capable of challenging the US. Right now, China is completly surrounded by the US.

Yes if China is to become a superpower then they'll have to break those island chains as you said and neutralise their neighbourhood. The USA rose to superpower status because their neighbourhood(Americas) was in their sphere of influence. As Teddy Roosevelt said "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far".

I would rather have an imperialist that builds infrastructure then one which cums on Africa's face when they are done raping it
China is just updating the infrastructure in the resource rich countries that were designed to get the raw materials out of the ground and transported to the ports to be shipped to China. The locals wont really benefit, since a bannana republic that you would like wouldn't create any jobs & develop the economy.
