Where were you when this happened:

@AbdiJohnson was non existent. His parents didnt even know each other. Around this time AbdiJ would've hated to know he was gonna be born to the Somali nation:chrisfreshhah:
:russ:

@Duchess...Her parents were traveling from Garoowe to Nairobi selling ivory..Thus leading to the disappearance of our wild life. She would be born 11 years to the date of this video

@waraabe...He would've loved to have been of age by this time and would've probably had staged an argagaxis at this event..His cause ? The total separation of Somaliland from the rest of Somalia. Sadly though, he was born 24 years later in a refugee camp in Daroor under great hunger and destitution. Thats way he is a midget due to stunted growth

@Duke of Bohol ..About this time his parents immigrated from Gondar Ethiopia and settled in Burco. They assimilated very well that they were incorporated by the Habar Jeclo of Burco. Till this day he believes he is HJ:mjlol:

@Sovereign-Reiko ...Her family was traveling to Jeddah Saudi Arabia from Mozambique to work as manual laborer for Saudi families when their ship got stranded of the coast of Bosaaso. This is where they settled and as was the custom of the MJs they were incorporated into the MJ sub clan. She still has low self-esteem about her nappy hair and her dwarfism. She refuse to believe that she is a bantu:drakelaugh:

My parents were neighbors then. They knew each other at a very young age.

your mom and my mom were neighbors about this time in that city ( you know the city im talking about, dont want to blow your cover) .Walahi

Prince of Lasanod

Eid trim pending
his own bodyguard? wow smh.
People make it out as if democracy was any good in somalia when that's a lie. It wasn't. It was probably even more corrupt than now. There was a drought in laascaanood and so many people died, so much livestock the government done nothing at all, president only came to pay tribute to the dead and he was assassinated by his bodyguard. My theory is that he was upset at the uselessness of the government at the time. It was a lot of confusion then but after a while siad barre aun was pressured to lead the nation lest everything collapses. Straight away he sent dhulbahante families that lost their livestock to the fertile south and gave then lands

My two grandfathers were in the military so they moved around a lot. Are you talking about Beledweyne? Or Gedo? They were in either of these two places in that time.

Spoken from knowledge adeer! im very impressed. As a matter of fact, Somalia at this point has made history in dysfunctional democracy where till this day we are in the Guinness world record for the most party in an election period (69). This is when our population was 2.5 million :chrisfreshhah::drakelaugh: We literally misunderstood what democracy was about that we created parties in parallel with our sub sub sub clans.

The amount of corruption was our of this stratosphere, where there was no concept of "who's money is this'. It was steal as much and fast as possible. That's why Siyad Barre and the military stepped in and use this as an excuse to topple that "democracy".

AUN. i wonder if those people that assassinated him realized how much they would negatively impact Somali history

You mean KGB :ooh: Why? What was their interest in all of this?

well, we were heavily leaning towards Western nations. That was one good reason. At indepedence we were neutral between the 2 camps but in the late 1960s we were picking one over the other.

A Communist Socialist Somalia that is allied with the Communists instead of a Democratic Progressive one that is allied with the West. But ultimately they would chose Ethiopia as the more strategic ally in the Horn over us.

Still better than the kacaan and the shit we have now. At least with democracy you change things, the system can improve itself. You don't have to fight a bloody civil war if you want to change things. You can just vote the government out. Also Somalia had peaceful transitions of power back then, which is literally one of the hardest things to achieve in a democracy. If you can do that, then it's possible to remove corruption and all those other negative things. Qabilism was also at an all time low. Back then Somalinimo was alive and thriving, today it's on life support.

Also, there's a drought now, I still don't see the government doing much. All the aid is coming from regular Somalis at home and abroad.

One fact that has been lost to historians and the media is that Somalia was the first democracy in Africa. Long before Botswana ( 1968) and SA (1994). The rest of Africa never had a peaceful handover from 1960 onwards except the aforementioned countries except Somalia.
