There have been an increase in ajnabi recruits among Daacish(ISIS)/Alshabaab, within the last 5 months they've captured Sudanese, Ethiopians,Yemenis, Syrians and Moroccans

We should never allow shiishiye argagxiso to live shoot them on sight and post it on social media in af-carabi and af-amxari the consequence of coming to Somalia to kill our people is a trip to the grave.

The villages in punt land were never part of the caliphate in its heyday of Muslim dominance. What makes them think it will become part of a “caliphate” supposedly led by some Arab dude hiding from drones in the 21st century?

ISis even mocked Somalis by labelling Somalia as part of the future “caliphate” under the province of Alhabasha😂😂😂

When the ''caliphate'' collapsed this cockroaches ran and implemented themselves in as many countries as possible trying to carve off territory. The warin the sahel is cause mainly by foreigenrs (Middle-easterners / Europeans) trying to take over the locals.

We are doing well those "Mountains" are a huge terrain and they have no local support . Our land is comparable to Afghanistan , except there the people supported the taliban against the US.

Besides they don't control anything and they are tops 50-100

Bosaso, PUNTLAND – The Puntland Police Force, specifically operating within the Bari Region yesterday announced the arrest of two members of the Islamic State Somalia (IS-S, also known as Daesh) terrorist group in the Bohol area of the Ufayn district, a crucial development in the ongoing struggle against terrorism in the region. The individuals apprehended, Hassan Ibn Mohamed Ibn Hussein from Morocco and Mohamed Ibn Mohamed Ahmed from Syria, underscore the international dimension of the terrorist threat in Somalia, particularly in Puntland.

Puntland’s Battle Against Terrorism

Puntland, a semi-autonomous state in northeastern Somalia, has been at the forefront of the fight against terrorism, confronting groups such as Daesh and Al-Shabab. The arrests are part of a broader campaign by the Puntland Police Force to dismantle these terrorist networks. Over the last six months, the force has successfully captured various members affiliated with Daesh and Al-Shabab. These operations have led to the arrest of individuals from diverse nationalities including Morocco, Sudan, Syria, Ethiopia, and South Somalia, reflecting the transnational nature of the threat faced by Puntland.

The Puntland security forces are intensifying their operations to eradicate the groups that pose a significant threat to security in the region. This relentless pursuit is a testament to Puntland’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and addressing the broader challenges of terrorism that affect Somalia and the Horn of Africa. The strategic location of Puntland, with its extensive coastline along the Gulf of Aden, makes it a critical area for counter-terrorism efforts not only for Somalia but for the international community.

The Regional and International Context

The fight against Daesh and Al-Shabab in Puntland is not an isolated endeavor. It is part of a larger regional and international effort to combat terrorism. These groups have exploited the complex political and security landscape in Somalia to establish a foothold, from which they launch attacks and conduct operations. The international dimension of the arrested individuals highlights the global networks that these terrorist organizations rely on for recruitment and support. It underscores the necessity for a coordinated and comprehensive approach to counter-terrorism that involves local, regional, and international actors.

The arrest of Hassan Ibn Mohamed Ibn Hussein and Mohamed Ibn Mohamed Ahmed by the Puntland Police Force provides critical insights into the operations of Daesh in the region. It signifies the effectiveness of Puntland’s counter-terrorism strategies and the importance of intelligence-led operations in dismantling terrorist networks. Furthermore, it serves as a deterrent to foreign fighters considering Somalia as a destination for jihadist activities.

The broader implications of these arrests for the security of the Horn of Africa cannot be overstated. They represent a blow to Daesh’s aspirations in the region and contribute to the overall efforts to stabilize Somalia. However, the presence of foreign fighters among the ranks of terrorists in Puntland also poses significant challenges. It indicates the appeal of Somalia to international jihadist movements and the need for a sustained and multifaceted response to terrorism.

The Way Forward

As Puntland continues its operations against Daesh and Al-Shabaab, the need for support from the international community remains paramount. This includes intelligence sharing, capacity building for local forces, and assistance in addressing the underlying conditions that fuel terrorism. The fight against terrorism in Somalia is a critical front in the global war on terror, requiring concerted efforts from all stakeholders.

The successes of the Puntland Police Force demonstrate the potential for progress when effective strategies are employed. However, the ongoing threat posed by Daesh and Al-Shabab necessitates vigilance and persistence. The international community must recognize the importance of Somalia’s stability for regional and global security and continue to support Puntland and Somalia in their counter-terrorism efforts.

In conclusion, the arrest of members of the IS-S terrorist group in Puntland marks a significant step forward in the fight against terrorism in Somalia. It reflects the dedication and resilience of the Puntland Police Force and highlights the importance of continued efforts to ensure the region’s security. As operations against these terrorist groups intensify, the support of the international community will be crucial in achieving lasting peace and stability in Somalia and the broader Horn of Africa.

These terrorist groups are some of the dumbest people on the planet. Why would anyone go to Puntland in Somalia to fight a holy war?

It does not even make sense.

Lack of govt, terrorists love when there's a security vacuum. This is is why they spread across the Sahel,Libya (prior to being destroyed by Khalifa Haftar in Benghazi),Syria,Iraq,Afghanistan (Taliban are currently destroying them),South Yemen & Somalia

Many of the leaders of the known terrorist cell in Somalia are from the Isaaq clan. Just putting it out there. And PL has better security than any region in Somalia including SL.

And doesn’t negate my point. They founded the group in Somalia where there was and still isn’t a functional govt. Clesrly proves my point that Salafist Jihadists prefer areas where there are security vacuums.

SL isn’t a part of Somalia firstly and SL does a far better job of keeping the heartland terrorist-free. The only terrorists are ironically PL-based, hiding in Eastern Sanaag mountains and have even infiltrated Lascaanood after SL forces withdrew.

Secondly, PL region of Somalia has a terrible track record against fighting Salafist Jihadists. Majority of weapons destined to terrorists are smuggled via Bosaaso port according to reputable international organizations. PL has ad cities and villages periodically taken over by ISIS for many years now with periodic attacks happening in civilian areas over the years and assasinations like the death of Paul Formosa in Bosaaso.
